If You Could Learn More About the Web…

What about managing a website do you want to learn?

What about managing a website do you want to learn?

In this post we are reaching out to you to request advice, feedback, and suggestions. We are brainstorming ideas for new information and education we can provide that will help you get the most out of your website. We’ve created a survey in hopes of getting right to the heart of what people are interested in learning.

Our survey lists topics we feel are important to know in order to determine whether your website will ultimately succeed or fail. However, we’d be derelict in our duties as marketers if we did not ask for your feedback. We know that your opinions MUST be heard!!

Thank you for taking the time to take this survey and help us make the web a better place, we would be nowhere without you!

You can find the survey here:  Website Success Survey

Sincerely,
The FreeHostingRescue Team

Oh! For The Passion . . .

Carol's Photos

Carol's Photos

Carol Cohen, one of our showcased sites’ winners, believes you should do things you are passionate about, things that get your creative juices flowing.   For Carol, that passion is photography.  As a young child Carol collected postcards and was extremely fascinated with landscaping pictures.  Although Carol is a professional, she enjoys photography as a hobby with friends, especially now that her children are grown.  She day trips and travels to capture nature’s beauty at its best.

With Photoshop and Lightroom available, more and more photographers are literally staying out of the darkroom, and the same is true for Carol.  Intrigued, I asked Carol if there were any other special software, social media, or techie things she was particularly interested in.  Her response, “Twitter and Facebook.”  Carol tried Twitter at the urging of her daughter, to help Ashton Kutcher be the first to reach one million followers.  “Once I saw how this social media worked,” Carol said, ” I thought it was a great way to see what my grown children are doing throughout the day. How cool is that?’

You’ve already seen Carol’s old site; now you can see her new site (using her winning Business Plus plan on IX Web Hosting). Carol, we thank you for sharing your passion.

“If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR you, TO you and BECAUSE of you.”

T. Alan Armstrong

Here are three terms to get you started in testing your hosting-terms’ IQ:

  1. What is Hosting?
    1. The company famous for the creation of delicacies such as the Twinkie.
    2. Assigning customers to tables in an establishment & dividing the dining area into areas of responsibility for the various servers on duty.
    3. Providing storage space on a server to allow accessibility to websites on the internet.
  2. What is DNS?
    1. The Internet system to translate names into IP addresses.
    2. Do Not Support. The credo of most hosting companies today.
    3. The current #1 artist on the R&B charts. Famous for the song, “Hard Wired, Soft Shoe”.
  3. What is a Domain?
    1. A tasty Chinese dish, consisting of noodles, vegetables, meat, and occasionally wontons.
    2. A human readable name used to redirect users to the numerical IP address of a hosted website.
